At all levels, in businesses large and small, managers need to delegate tasks to subordinates. Managers that can delegate wisely are considered as successful and are recognized for their achievements. However the challenge is in identifying what tasks to delegate. For all you know, you could be busy working on tasks that does not need your involvement and attention.

As per the article from Harvard Business Review, “Delegation benefits managers, direct reports, and organizations. Yet it remains one of the most underutilized and underdeveloped management capabilities. A 2007 study on time management found that close to half of the 332 companies surveyed, were concerned about their employee’s delegation skills. At the same time, only 28% of those companies offered any training on the topic. Most people will tell you they are too busy to delegate whereas, it’s more efficient for them to just do it themselves”.
